Originally from LaGrange, Georgia; Jason “JP” Gilbert is a 2001 graduate of Troup County Comprehensive High School. Shortly after graduation he attended Columbus State University (Columbus, GA) and Troy State University (Phenix City, AL) as an Early Childhood Education Major. JP is a graduate of Ashford University, in which he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a minor in Project Management.
Brother Gilbert is a summer 2006 initiate of the Beta Chapter of Men of D.I.S.T.I.N.C., Incorporated. He has held numerous of leadership positions professionally and within the organization, which can be attributed to his great passion, dedication, and leadership abilities.
In 2007, JP discovered the world of aviation, and accepted a flight attendant position at ExpressJet Airlines (formerly Atlantic Southeast Airlines). A year later, he was certified as a Initial Operating Experience Facilitator where his passion for safety and wiliness to help new hire flight attendants get acclimated to their new career was heighten. In 2011, he became an Inflight Trainer Instructor where he facilitated regulatory training for incumbent and new hire flight attendants. Additionally, he developed and coached his peers on innovative teaching strategies for customer service, First Aid, CPR, Automated External Defibrillator usage, and other mandatory programs governed by the Federal Aviation Administration. In 2015, JP was selected as a Brand Ambassador where he continued to educate, motivate, and win the heart of his colleagues. In 2016 he became a Chief Flight Attendant (Inflight Supervisor). JP was only in this role for a short period of time before
His professional attributes and strong business sense lead to him becoming the 3rd Southern Regional Director (2008 – 2009). During his tenure, he brought discipline and structure to the Southern Region. It was also under his administration that the first regional conference was held. In 2010, Gilbert was appointed as Executive Director (2010 – 2011), where he was given the task of planning and implementing conferences/ conventions and workshops. During his administration as Executive Director, Gilbert also served as and Southern Regional Treasurer.
Brother Gilbert was the first Director of Convention Services (2011 – 2013), where he implemented various innovative and creative ideas. Brother Gilbert is also a charter member of the Metro Atlanta Alumni and Professional Chapter where he served as Vice President (2010 -2012) and President (2011 – 2013). He served as National First Vice President (2013 – 2015).
